My Speech: Why Hollywood has a negative impact on our society!

For the past 5 weeks we have been working on our speeches. We had the task of completing a speech that brought attention to the audience and a topic that kept them hooked in. For my speech I decided that my topic would be on "Why Hollywood has a negative impact on our society." I thought this would be a good topic because I am one of those people who is very positive and I thought this would be a good challenge for me as it was something new.

Here is my Speech:

CantaMaths!

The Hardest Challenge Of My Life!

Wednesday 24th August 2016. This was it, it was the day; the 2016 CantaMaths Competition. My team and I had been training/practising for the competition for ages. Our brains were fried! Literally, Mr M(our maths teacher) asked me what 2x8= and I said 4! I mean seriously you could ask a 5 year old that question and they would probably get that right. But me, an 11 year old, couldn't get it right. Now to carry on...

Some of my friends and I made a humongous banner to support our Yaldhurst team.

We had finally arrived at Horncastle Arena and
joined the queue. Our Runner(Shukoor) had to go in first, so the rest of us( Laura, Eze and I) had to wait about 15 minutes to go take our seats. As soon as we sat down I started getting nervous and worried I might let my team down. But as soon as we got into the questions I was fine.

We had a time limit of 30 minutes, in which then we had to answer as many questions as we could. The questions were REALLY HARD! We answered 4 questions and scored 20 points.

I had an amazing time and I think everyone else did too. I have this quote that always makes me feel happy and have the need to complete tasks. Here it is: "Walking up a hill is for the joy of coming down." This means that all the hard work you put in is always worth it.

TM3 Timetable!

This is my Term 3 Timetable. This is where I find out what I am working on each day. It is slightly different each week. You can see my goals at the top of my timetable. At the end of each day I reflect on my timetable. This term I am focusing on achieving 4p in my writing overall. I am working hard on improving my reading and writing skills. This term I am looking forward to creating my DigiAward - I am creating a website, which is my first website I have ever made. Please comment on this and tell me what you think about my timetable for TM3. Thank you!

100WC: The Forest

The Forest

This is my 100WC. The topic was to write a story about a particular photo/image. I really enjoyed this because it let my imagination run wild. I found this challenging because it was really hard to write a story about just one photo/image.

The trees groaned as they heard the chainsaws roar. The fairies quickly made their way out of the forest before the THINGS came. The gnomes hurried out of their Toadstools and climbed onto the emergency boats. The fairies made sure there families were okay. Finally the THINGS got into the forest.

All the boats had left and now only the trees were left. Out came the chainsaws. 10 years later...

“Here is the fairy forest. Please do not touch the trees!” Harry read aloud. “Why can’t we touch the trees?“asked Harry. “Because of the THINGS. Now no more questions!” snapped Mum.
