100WC: The Forest

The Forest

This is my 100WC. The topic was to write a story about a particular photo/image. I really enjoyed this because it let my imagination run wild. I found this challenging because it was really hard to write a story about just one photo/image.

The trees groaned as they heard the chainsaws roar. The fairies quickly made their way out of the forest before the THINGS came. The gnomes hurried out of their Toadstools and climbed onto the emergency boats. The fairies made sure there families were okay. Finally the THINGS got into the forest.

All the boats had left and now only the trees were left. Out came the chainsaws. 10 years later...

“Here is the fairy forest. Please do not touch the trees!” Harry read aloud. “Why can’t we touch the trees?“asked Harry. “Because of the THINGS. Now no more questions!” snapped Mum.

  1. You have introduced an imaginative yet sad scene. As a reader I straight away think about the sadness of a forest being felled. How do you think humans can strike a balance between needing wood and maintaining forests?

i look forward to your next blog post.

  2. What an intriguing story. You have captured a moody scene that makes me want to know more- a great skill for a writer. It has made me want to read more about the THINGS: what are they; why are they in the forest; what do they do?
